1st Win For 1st Foal From $5.28m Sander Camillo
In the UK overnight, the 1st foal from 3.2 million guineas (A$5.28m) US-bred 7YO mare Sander Camillo (Dixie Union-Staraway, by Star De Naskra) recorded her 1st win when Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum’s US-bred 2YO filly Vociferous (Street Cry-Sander Camillo, by Dixie Union) scored over 8 furlongs on all-weather at Southwell for trainer Mark Johnston. Her Gr1-winning dam Sander Camillo (whose own dam Staraway won 20 races in the US) was purchased by John Ferguson for 3.2 million guineas (A$5.28m) at the 2007 UK Tattersalls December Sale (having previously been purchased as a 2YO by Sir Robert Ogden at Florida’s 2006 Calder Breeze-Up Sale for US$500,000).
