UK Tatts Yearlings Day-2: $990k Galileo Filly

Friday, 7th October 2011

In the UK auction ring overnight, Grant & Tom Pritchard-Gordon of Badgers Bloodstock (acting for Charlie Liverton) out-bid Coolmore’s John Magnier to pay top price of 600,000 guineas (A$990,000) for a German-bred filly by former shuttler & Gr1 English Derby winner Galileo (out of Surumu mare Peace Time) during the middle session of the 3-day Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1. The filly (consigned from Germany’s Gestut Etzean) is a full-sister to group-winners Peace Royale & Peaceful Love. Liverton commented: “She is lovely. She is from a really tough German family, is very athletic & has a delightful eye. We are really pleased to have picked her up. She goes into training with John Gosden.”
