Monday, 10th October 2011

In the UK, unbeaten European Champion juvenile & dual Gr1-winning 7YO freshman stallion shuttler Teofilo (Galileo-Speirbhean, by Danehill) recorded his 4th individual stakes-winner when Irish-bred juvenile colt Parish Hall (Teofilo-Halla Siamsa, by Montjeu) scored a half-length victory in the £300,000 (A$480,000) Gr1 Dewhurst Stakes (7 furlongs) for 2YOs at Newmarket. Parish Hall (ridden by Kevin Manning for breeder-trainer Jim Bolger) defeated favoured fellow colt Power (Oasis Dream-Frappe, by Inchinor) & another Irish-bred colt Most Improved (Lawman-Tonnara, by Linamix). Parish Hall now has 2 wins & 2 runners-up (in August’s Irish Gr2 Futurity Stakes over 7 furlongs at The Curragh & July’s Irish Gr3 Tyros Stakes over 7 furlongs at Leopardstown) from 5 starts for £213,224 (A$341,000) earnings.
