US sire Repriced (one of the last remaining sons of Roberto) died at Darby Dan Farm in Kentucky "from an apparent heart attack" aged 24, reported bloodhorse.com. He was 24. Darby Dan owner John Phillips commented: "It's the real end of an era. Repriced represented a connection to the golden era of American stallions. It's well known that my grandfather John Galbreath named Roberto (a major winner & sire) for the great Pittsburgh Pirates' right fielder Roberto Clemente. Both Robertos were exceptional in their fields & Repriced was a wonderful link to those great years." On the track, Florida-bred Repriced (Roberto-Feature Price, by Quack) recorded 5 wins (including the Listed Oceanside Stakes) & 8 placings (including the Gr2 El Rincon Handicap) from 21 starts. Subsequently in the breeding barn, Repriced (who stood at Mare Haven Farm in Kentucky before moving to Darby Dan in 2001) has sired 35 stakes-horses & the earners of more than US$11.9 million. His 20 stakes-winners include Capital Request, Closeout, No Inflation, Rich In Spirit & Spruce Run.
