3-From-3 For Unbeaten 1st Winner by Freshman De Beers

The 1st winner by Cornerstone Stud's Gr1-winning 9YO freshman stallion De Beers (Quest For Fame-Chimeara, by Danehill) made it 3-wins-from-3-starts when 2YO gelding Heavens Shout (De Beers-Kiss Angel, by Euclase) scored over 1000m at Port Lincoln in South Australia yesterday for trainer Simon Drewitt. Heavens Shout was a $9,500 yearling consigned by Kirkliston Stud at the 2011 Magic Millions Adelaide Sale. His sire De Beers stood the 2011 breeding season at Cornerstone (formerly Lindsay Park) for $4,950. Om the track, De Beers (a NZ$750,000 yearling at the 2004 NZ Bloodstock Karaka Sale) recorded 2 wins (including the Gr1 Gr1 Rosehill Guineas over 2000m) & 5 placings (including the Gr1 AJC Australian Derby over 2400m, Gr2 Hobartville Stakes over 1400m & Gr2 Roman Consul Stakes over 1200m) from 21 starts for $861,725 earnings.
