Tattersalls Oct Book-1 Sale Day-2: 1.5 Million Guineas Galileo Filly
On Day-2 of the 3-day Tattersalls October Book-1 Yearling Sale, Mandore International's Nicholas de Wantrigant saw off James Delahooke and John Magnier when spending 1.5 million guineas on a full-sister to star Ballydoyle filly Was (Galileo-Alluring Park, by Green Desert) who fetched 1.2 million guineas at this sale in 2010. Consigned by Seamus Burns' Lodge Park Stud, the filly is also closely related to Darley's successful first season sire New Approach. After the sale, de Wantigrant revealed the filly is not for his major client Sheikh Joaan al Thani, but for another of the agency's clients. "She is one that you would like on your farm," said de Watrigant. "She is a lovely filly with a Classic pedigree, and she moves very well. She will be trained in France."
