First Australian Winner For Swiss Ace
Westbury Stud's Gr1-winning stallion Swiss Ace (Secret Savings-Rapid Serve, by Carson City) sired his first Australian winner yesterday when House Of Hingis proved too strong in the Deb Kohlman 2YO Fillies Maiden Plate (1100m) at Kyneton, reports breednet.com.au. The Peter Moody-trained filly was unplaced when making her debut last November in the Gr3 Seven News Stakes behind Oakleigh Girl, but showed the benefit of a break when scoring easily by 3.75-lengths over Shantra & Star Hunter. "She's always shown us nice ability at home, but when she came off the bridle she was still a bit new to it," said Nolen. "She will learn a lot from this and really benefit from today." House Of Hingis is from the city-winning General Nediym mare Tempo Manor, a half-sister to Gr3-winning sprinter Ready To Rip from the Danehill mare Lady Langham. Oakleigh Plate winner Swiss Ace has now produced two winners after his son Staccato won in New Zealand in January.
