Rain May Rule Out Snitzerland

Friday, 28th March 2014

Meanwhile, the prospect of a rain-affected track at Rosehill has trainer Gerald Ryan reconsidering his options with star sprinter Snitzerland (Snitzel-Monte Rosa, by Fraar) who is set to run in the Gr1 Galaxy (1100m) on Saturday, reports racingnetwork.com.au. Ryan said he would discuss the matter with the mare's owners before making a decision. Snitzerland, winner of the Gr1 Black Caviar Lighting Stakes in February, has never raced on a track worse than a Dead 5 in her 18 career starts and both her runs on a Dead 5 resulted in career worst runs. "She is only a 50/50 chance of running," Ryan said. "I'm not a rapt to run her on it. She might be a swimmer, but I'm not keen to find out on Saturday." Rosehill was downgraded from a Slow 7 to a Heavy 8 yesterday after further rain overnight.
