Japanese Galloper Confirmed For Spring Carnival
Trainer Yoshito Yahagi has confirmed that talented Japanese galloper Bande (Authorized-Logica, by Priolo) will travel to Melbourne for the spring racing carnival with the Melbourne Cup his primary objective, reports racingnetwork.com.au. Racing Victoria's international recruitment officer Leigh Jordan has been in discussions with the horse's connections following his impressive 5-length victory in the Sapporo Nikkei Open (2600m) on the weekend. "Keita Tanaka, who is the Racing Manager for Yoshito Yahagi, confirmed to me today that Bande is coming to Melbourne for the Spring Racing Carnival," Jordon said via racingvictoria.net.au. "The Melbourne Cup will be the primary target for Bande and at this stage both the Caulfield Cup and Geelong Cup remain on the table as potential lead-up runs," he added. "The horse couldn't have been more impressive winning at Sapporo on the weekend and his form in Stakes races behind the likes of Epiphaneia and Gold Ship is strong." The 4YO son of Authorized has won 5 of his 12 career starts and has been placed at Gr1 and Gr2 level.
