Inaugural Sire Nom Auction Successful For Young Sales Company

Thursday, 4th June 2015

Last Tuesday's first online auction of stallion nominations by bloodstockauction.com, as part of their regular fortnightly sale, proved particularly attractive to bidders. With a steady increase in the quality of lots entered, and also numbers of bidders, memberships and visitors to the site, the noms on offer included one to NZ Champion Sire-elect Savabeel (Waikato Stud) which was passed in after 47 bids for $80,000, but still open to negotiation. Meanwhile, Widden Stud's boom sire Sebring had a nomination sell for $54,500 after 34 bids were taken, and new Riverdene Stud acquisition Kaphero saw three covers sold despite only officially having one listed. Sales are conducted the first and third Tuesday of each month.
