Godolphin Secure Irish 1000 Guineas Winner
Godolphin have purchased Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Pleascach (Teofilo-Toirneach, by Thunder Gulch) who will carry the global operation's royal blue silks when she runs in the Gr2 Ribblesdale Stakes (12 furlongs) at Royal Ascot on Thursday, reports Sky Sports. The Jim Bolger-trained filly was impressive in defeating the highly regarded Found by 0.5-length in the Curragh classic last month to take her overall record to 3 wins from 5 starts. John Ferguson, bloodstock advisor to Sheikh Mohammed, commented: "Jim is keen for the filly to run at Royal Ascot, with the Irish Derby and the Irish Oaks both being targets in the future." He added: "His Highness Sheikh Mohammed believes when buying young Classic fillies, you look at them as a 10-year plan rather than just as a racehorse, and with the stallions that we now have at our disposal, the future is exciting." Pleascach, who was bred by Bolger, hails from the family of champion mare Spain. Watch Pleasach's Irish 1,000 Guineas win below.
