Curvy Wins Gr2 Ribblesdale Stakes

Friday, 19th June 2015

At Royal Ascot in the UK, former Coolmore shuttler and triple Gr1-winning champion European sire Galileo (Sadler's Wells-Urban Sea, by Miswaki) added a Group success when 3YO filly Curvy (Galileo-Frappe, by Inchinor) scored by 1-length for trainer David Wachman and jockey Ryan Moore in the £160,000 Gr2 Ribblesdale Stakes (12 furlongs) for 3YO fillies, over fellow fillies Pleascach (Teofilo-Toirneach, by Thunder Gulch) & Pamona (Duke of Marmalade-Palanca, by Inchinor). This was consecutive Group victories for the progressive Curvy who took her record to 4 wins (including the Gr3 Gallinule Stakes) from 7 starts for £151,489 earnings. Watchman said that Curvy could now take on the boys in the Irish Derby. "She got a free entry in the Irish Derby for winning the Gallinule Stakes the last day. That was kind of my plan, to come here and then the Irish Derby, but we'll see what suits (the owners)," he told At The Races.
