Monday, 22nd June 2015

At the Gold Coast in Queensland, Coolmore's Gr1-winning son of Danehill Fastnet Rock (Danehill-Piccadilly Circus, by Royal Academy) added a black-type success when 2YO filly Harlem River (Fastnet Rock-Harlem Heat, by Xaar) scored by 1-length for trainer Gai Waterhouse in the $100,000 Listed Tattersall's Stakes (1400m) for 2YOs, over fellow 2YO filly Star Of Night (Wicked Style-Daunting Thought, by Just Awesome) & 2YO gelding Falloch (Falvelon-Retirement Day, by Pompeii Court). This was the first stakes victory for the Coolmore-owned Harlem River who took her record to 1 win and 2 placings (including the Listed BRC Lancaster Stakes & Listed Woodlands Stakes ) from 3 starts for $113,500 earnings. Harlem River, who hails from the family of stakes winning sprinters Flaming Hot and Hot As Hell, was a $180,000 purchase by bloodstock agent Anthony Penfold at the 2014 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of Yarraman Park Stud.
