First Winner For Spendthrift Sire

Friday, 26th June 2015

Gr1-winning millionaire Paddy O'Prado (El Prado-Fun House) has sired his first winner at Gulfstream in Florida. Standing at Spendthrift in Kentucky, Paddy O'Prada's first winner is the aptly named Shesthewinner, a daughter of White She Devil (Vicar), a half-sister to Gr2 winner Headache. Paddy O'Prado was a five-time graded stakes winner and earner of US$1,721,297 on the track. He was an Eclipse Finalist as a 3-year-old in 2010 after capturing four graded stakes victories, including his biggest win over an international field in the Secretariat S. (G1) – see below – on the Arlington Million Festival program. Paddy O'Prado also placed in the Kentucky Derby (G1) on dirt and Blue Grass S. (G1) on synthetic, making him the only Gr1-placed 3-year-old of his crop on all three surfaces. He's no one hit wonder either for his dam: his half-sister is 2014 Eclipse Award-winning Champion 3-Year-Old Filly Untapable, a five-time Gr1 winner with marquee victories in last year's Kentucky Oaks (G1) & Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1).
