Arqana August Yearling Sale Catalogue Online

Wednesday, 1st July 2015

The 2015 Arqana August Yearling Sale will take place in Deauville from Saturday 15 to Monday 17 August, the same weekend as the Gr1 Prix Jacques le Marois, regarded as one of the premier mile races in the world. The Deauville Yearling Sales are an excellent source of winners at the highest level, with recent graduates including dual Arc heroine Treve, French Derby & Irish Champion Stakes winner The Grey Gatsby, and dual Classic winner Avenir Certain. Indeed, one of the prized lots at this year's sale will undoubtedly be Lot 176, the full-sister to superstar mare Treve. Another attraction of this sale will be the very first yearlings by the exceptional Frankel to be available for sale. Retired to stud in 2013 as the highest rated racehorse of all time, the son of Galileo was unbeaten in 14 starts winning 10 times at Gr1 level. Six yearlings from his first crop feature in Part 1 of the catalogue and include Lot 159, a half-sister to six-time Gr1 winner Stacelita; and Lot 165, a half-brother to Gr1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère winner Naaqoos. Apart from Frankel, the catalogue will feature yearlings from the world's best stallions, including Dubawi, Galileo, Sea The Stars, Shamardal, Cape Cross, Danehill Dancer, Exceed And Excel, High Chaparral, Pivotal, Invincible Spirit and Oasis Dream. The sale will also feature the first yearlings by Australian champion sire Redoute's Choice from his first year standing at the Haras de Bonneval. Some of the exciting young stallions with progeny on offer include Excelebration, Helmet, Lope de Vega, Nathaniel, Sepoy, Rip Van Winkle, Zoffany, and champion New Zealand-bred galloper So You Think. "We are excited at the prospect of presenting the very first yearlings by Frankel for sale, as well as the first yearlings by Redoute's Choice from his stay at the Haras de Bonneva," Arqana chairman Eric Hoyeau said. "The August Sale's reputation is growing from year to year from an international perspective thanks to the unique cocktail on offer: yearlings of the highest quality, a festive and convivial atmosphere, and an ideal date at the heart of some of the racing calendar's most prestigious weekends...We are now very much looking forward to seeing buyers from all over the world at Deauville."
