Million Euro Yearling No Guaranteed Winner

Friday, 3rd July 2015

Friday Odd-Spot: If punters were using debutant Craven Legend's yearling price as a guide at yesterday's Deauville meeting in France, they would have gone home with empty pockets. Starting at $5, the Andre Fabre colt finished mid field in his debut over 1400m that suggests he'll be looking for more ground. Craven's Legend is a half-brother to Gr1 Irish Oaks winner Chicquita, and consequently fetched a king's ransom when sold for 1.1 million at last year's Arqana August Yearling Sale. With two other half-siblings, both fillies, having sold for 1 million, Craven's Legend will likely improve with the outing under his belt, and with a little maturity.
