Seachange Date With Fastnet Rock
Seven-time Gr1-winning Kiwi mare Seachange (Cape Cross-Just Cruising, by Broad Reach) will visit leading Australian sire Fastnet Rock this spring, reports theinformant.co.nz. Owner-breeders The Oaks Stud in New Zealand confirmed the booking on their website yesterday: "Seachange left yesterday [Wednesday] for Sydney to be mated to Fastnet Rock at Coolmore Stud. Once safely in foal she will return to The Oaks Stud." Seachange, a two-time NZ Horse of the Year, has so far produced one foal to race, with the Lloyd Williams-owned Divan (Zabeel) showing above average talent when finishing third in the Listed VRC Anzac Day Stakes. Her first foal is an unraced full-brother to Divan named Thornton who was purchased by Williams for $500,000 at Karaka in 2011. Seachange's third foal is a filly by Darci Brahma to whom she gave birth last spring. She is currently in foal to the same stallion and is due in early September.
