NZ 2000 Guineas Target For The Justice League

Tuesday, 7th July 2015

Meanwhile, Pukekohe trainer Nigel Tiley is also looking forward to seeing exciting prospect The Justice League (I Am Invincible-L'Artiste, by Peintre Celebre) return to the races, reports NZ Racing Desk. The highly regarded juvenile looked extra smart when cruising to an effortless 4.5-length debut win at Ellerslie in December before finishing unplaced in the Karaka Million after enduring a torrid run. The son of I Am Invincible was subsequently gelded before returning to finish fifth from a wide gate in the Listed Equine Stakes and was then turned out again. "He came back into the stable on July 1 and he looks great," Tiley said. "He's definitely strengthened and he's more robust. To be honest, you wouldn't have thought he would be a two-year-old type and he gives me the impression he will get a mile." he added: "I know he's by I Am Invincible and they tend to be out and out sprinters, but I wouldn't be surprised if he went further." Tiley said The Justice League would be aimed at the Gr1 NZ 2000 Guineas. "He will be nominated for Riccarton, but we'll see how he comes up and the progress he makes will tell us which way to go," he said.
