TAB & Sky Racing Ride With The National Jockeys Trust
TAB, Sky Racing and the National Jockeys Trust have announced a three-year partnership at the TAB National Jockeys Trust Race Day at Caulfield. In addition to the significant sponsorship deal as principal partners, TAB and Sky Racing will donate $120,000 over the course of the next three years to the National Jockeys Trust. As part of the agreement, TAB will be the official wagering partner and along with Sky, will have a significant presence at events including race days, the National Jockeys Celebration Day in August and the National Jockeys Trust T20 cricket match. Chairman of the National Jockeys Trust, Paul Innes AO welcomed the support TAB and Sky Racing are giving to the Trust. "As Australia's largest wagering operator, TAB is central to the funding of the racing industry. Jockeys risk severe injury or even death on a daily basis doing the job they love. There are times when badly injured riders and families of riders we have lost need financial support," Mr Innes said. "TAB and Sky's partnership with the Trust will allow that support to develop and it will leave a positive impact on the lives of riders who turn to the Trust in times of need." Tabcorp's Chief Financial Officer, Damien Johnston announced the partnership at Saturday's Caulfield race day, saying TAB and Sky Racing are proud to support the Trust. "In what has been a sad week for racing, TAB and Sky Racing acknowledge and appreciate the risks riders undertake every day," Mr Johnston said. "TAB and Sky Racing are supporters of racing's participants and today's partnership announcement is in addition to the extension of our partnership with the Australian Trainers Association last week." Tabcorp is the most substantial contributor to racing funding, returning $735 million to the Australian racing industry in 2013/14.
