Arlington Million Next For Chrome

Wednesday, 8th July 2015

California Chrome will be aimed at the Arlington Million after an aborted UK campaign that saw him miss the Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot, reports Sky Sports. The US Horse of the Year was residing at the Newmarket stable of Rae Guest preparing for the Gr1 showpiece when connections discovered a foot abscess that precipitated his withdrawal at the 11th hour. "He left on Monday. He's gone to Chicago and is going to run in the Arlington Million. That's the plan," Guest said. "He's in great form now. It's such a shame he missed Royal Ascot. It wasn't just me, it was all the people that took all the trouble to bring him from Dubai to me at Newmarket and then for it (a foot abscess) to happen just two days before the race." He added: "It will have done him good to be based at Newmarket for a few months instead of just going round in circles. We'll all be rooting for him in the Arlington Million."
