Northern Hemisphere Bred Mare On Debut

Wednesday, 8th July 2015

Valuable Irish-bred mare Galaya (Galileo-Witch Of Fife, by Lear Fan) will make her belated debut in a 1500m maiden at Bendigo today. Trained by Darren Weir for prominent owner Paul Fudge, the 4YO daughter of Galileo was purchased by Fudge's Waratah Thoroughbreds for £900,000 at the 2012 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale at Newmarket from the draft of Croom House Stud (Ireland). Galaya is out of the well-related Lear Fan mare Witch Of Fife, making her a full-sister to Gr3 Irish winner Cabaret, and a half-sister to Gr3 Solario Stakes winner Drumfire (Danehill Dancer) and Gr2 Hong Kong winner Ho Choi (Pivotal). This is also the family of Gr1 Prix Vermeille winner Pearly Shells and Gr1 Hollywood Turf Cup winner and sire Frenchpark.
