Curvy On Upward Spiral

Thursday, 9th July 2015

Trainer David Wachman is hoping Curvy can maintain her progressive profile as she prepares for her biggest test to date in the Gr1 Irish Oaks at the Curragh on Sunday week (18 July), reports At The Races. The well bred filly boasts an impressive strike rate of 4 wins from 7 starts, including victories in the Gr2 Ribblesdale Stakes and Gr3 Gallinule Stakes at her past two outings. "Curvy is in good shape. We're happy with her and she has come back from Ascot in good form," Wachman said. "She's improving all the time, but she needs to improve again to win a Group One. She has a good pedigree and has the physique - as well as the size and strength." He added: "She was a bit weak as a two-year-old, but she has kept stepping forward. They all level off at some point, but hopefully she hasn't yet." By Galileo out of the Inchinor mare Frappe, Curvy is a half-sister to dual Gr1-winning Coolmore sire Power (Oasis Dream), winner of the Irish 2000 Guineas & National Stakes. Frappe, in turn, is a half-sister to Gr1 winners Footstepsinthesand & Pedro The Great.
