Golden Horn In King George Reckoning
Meanwhile, a start in the King George is also being considered for Eagle Top's outstanding stable-mate Golden Horn, who became the first horse to complete the Dante-Derby-Eclipse treble last Saturday, reports Racing Post. Hugo Lascelles, who also advises Golden Horn's owner Anthony Oppenheimer, said: "Both John Gosden and Mr Oppenheimer have told me that Golden Horn has come out of his win in the Eclipse very well." He added: "John and Mr Oppenheimer will see how he is before making the decision as to whether he goes to Ascot. With two and a half weeks to go, there is plenty of time." If the unbeaten Golden Horn can add the King George to his impressive list of accomplishments this season, he will emulate the achievements of turf greats Nashwan (1989), Mill Reef (1971) and Tulyar (1952), who won at Ascot after winning the Derby and Eclipse earlier in the year.
