Monday, 13th July 2015

At Chantilly in France, former European Champion 1st Season Sire & Chatswood Stud shuttler Invincible Spirit (Green Desert-Rafha, by Kris) celebrated a Gr1 success when 3YO colt Territories (Invincible Spirit-Taranto, by Machiavellian) scored by 0.5-length for trainer Andre Fabre in the €400,000 Gr1 Prix Jean Prat (8 furlongs) for 3YOs, over fellow 3YO colts Dutch Connection (Dutch Art-Endless Love, by Dubai Destination) & Sir Andrew (Polan-High Zaff, by High Chaparral). This was the first Gr1 victory for Territories who took his record to 3 wins (including the Gr3 Prix de Fontainebleau) and 4 placings (including the Gr1 English 2000 Guineas) from 7 starts. Lisa-Jane Graffard, representing Territories owners Godolphin, said: "This was a very accomplished performance by Territories, who showed his class." She added: "He will remain at a mile and might go for the Deauville race (Gr1 Prix Jacques le Marois on August 16)."
