Treve 'Perfect': Head-Maarek

Wednesday, 15th July 2015

Trainer Criquette Head-Maarek says superstar mare Treve will have an easy few weeks before her she begins to build momentum towards an historic third Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe bid in October, reports Sky Sports. In contrast to 2014, everything has gone to plan for Treve this season with the Al Shaqab Racing-owned 5YO unbeaten in her two starts this campaign. She is set to have her final Arc lead-up in the Gr1 Prix Vermeille at Longchamp on September 13. Seven horses have won Europe's weight-for-age championship twice, but no horse has won three. "Everything is fine with Treve," said Head-Maarek. "She's having an easy few weeks before we bring her back for the Vermeille. Everything is more relaxed than last year, we seemed to spend most of that looking for what was wrong." She added: "She has done everything right, she's very switched off at home but when she gets to the races, she knows what is required. Physically she looks perfect."
