First Stakes Winner For Dream Ahead

Monday, 20th July 2015

At the Curragh in Ireland, Emirates Park's 5-time Gr1-winning shuttler Dream Ahead (Diktat-Land Of Dreams, by Cadeaux Genereux) celebrated his first stakes winner when 2YO Irish-bred colt Final Frontier (Dream Ahead-Polly Perkins, by Pivotal) scored by a neck for trainer Jessica Harrington in the Gr3 Anglesey Stakes (6 furlongs) for 2YOs, over 2YO fillies Miss Katie Mae (Dark Angel-Kate the Great, by Xaar) & Queen Of Sicily (Cape Cross-Jealous Again, by Trippi). This was a promising performance by the unbeaten Final Frontier who took his record to 2 wins from 2 starts for €53,635 earnings. Trainer Jessica Harrington said that Final Frontier was likely to head towards the Gr1 Vincent O'Brien National Stakes (7 furlongs) at the Curragh on 13 September. "He needs stepping up to seven furlongs," Harrington told Sky Sports. "He got to the front too soon, was idling in front and the filly (Miss Katie Mae) came back at him. He did that well and quickened very well." She added: "He'll definitely step up to seven now and you'd imagine he'll go for the National Stakes here. We'll give him a little time."
