Sherman Delighted Chrome Will Race On

Monday, 20th July 2015

Meanwhile, trainer Art Sherman is thrilled that California Chrome will return to racing as a 5YO next year, reports Blood Horse. It was originally thought that the reigning US Horse of the Year would be retired after a cannon bone bruise ended his 2015 campaign, but Sherman said he would return to his Los Alamitos stable after a brief spell at Taylor Made Farm in Kentucky. "It's all coming together now," Sherman said. "He's coming back to California." Sherman said that California Chrome could return to racing as early as January if things went to plan. "It feels good knowing that you're going to have a nice 5-year-old horse in the handicap division, because so many have gone away," Sherman said. "Personally, it's very gratifying for me. We missed so much with him this year. We didn't get the chance I wanted to have with him. It will be great to have a game plan and go for it."
