Showcasing Adds UK Black-Type

Monday, 20th July 2015

At Newbury in the UK, Haunui Farm's Gr2-winning shuttler Showcasing (Oasis Dream-Arabesque, by Zafonic) added a black-type success when 2YO colt Tasleet (Showcasing-Bird Key, by Cadeaux Genereux) scored by a neck for trainer William Haggas in the Listed Rose Bowl Stakes (6 furlongs) for 2YOs, over fellow 2YO colt Madrinho (Frozen Power (IRE) 2007 out of Perfectly Clear, by (USA) 1995, by Woodman) & 2YO filly Plagiarism (Lonhro-Journalist, by Night Shift), a US-bred daughter of former Champion Australian Sire Lonhro. The Shadwell-owned Tasleet took his record to 2 wins from 3 starts for £18,249 earnings. Tasleet is likely to step up to Group level at his next start. "If I had my way he would be a Mill Reef Horse, but I am sure the trainer would like to go for the Gimcrack as it is a race he likes to try and win," said Angus Gold, racing manager for owner Hamdan Al Maktoum. "He has won his Listed race and deserves a step up in grade. He has got a very good attitude and I was very impressed how he finished off that race." The Gr2 Gimcrack Stakes will be run at York on 22 August.
