Delicacy Sibling Wins Debut

Thursday, 23rd July 2015

Universal Law, a 2YO half-brother to star West Australian filly Delicacy, made the perfect start to his career when winning the opening race at Belmont yesterday. Trained by Grant Williams and ridden by William Pike, Universal Law let down with a smart turn of foot reminiscent of his big sister to power home for an impressive 0-5-length win in the Magic Millions Handicap over 1200m. A homebred for prominent WA owner and breeder Bob Peters, Universal Law is by ill-fated sire Beneteau out of the Scenic mare Simply Wicked, a daughter of multiple stakes-winning sprinter Street Talk. Delicacy (Al Maher) stamped herself as one of the best fillies in Australia when becoming just the second filly in history to claim the Gr1 South Australian Derby & Gr1 Australasian Oaks double in May.
