Gotham Sold To Hong Kong

Friday, 24th July 2015

Talented New Zealand 2YO Gotham has been sold to Hong Kong and will continue his racing career under expat trainer Paul O'Sullivan, reports theinformant.co.nz. "Sad to see this guy head off, but I'm certain Hong Kong will love him," co-trainer Emma-Lee Browne said. The Onemorenomore gelding is still a maiden after four starts, but showed his best days were ahead of him when finishing sixth behind Dal Cielo in the Gr1 Diamond Stakes at Ellerslie in March. Hailing from the famous Leica family, Gotham is the second foal to race from the Elvstroem mare Krysia who has also produced Gr2 The Roses placegetter Whatalovelyday. Krysia, in turn, is a half-sister to New Zealand Derby winner Leica Guv and Gr1 Australian Guineas winner Light Fantastic. Other family members include Victoria Derby winners Nothin' Leica Dane and Redding, Australian Derby winner Leica Lover, and Australian Oaks winner Leica Smile.
