Hazzabeel Passes Latest Test

Monday, 27th July 2015

Exciting West Australian galloper Hazzabeel (Zabeel-Miss Avalon, by Fantastic Light) continued his rise through the grades when cruising to an easy 3-length win in the Jack Young Handicap (1600m) at Belmont on Saturday, reports the West Australian. The Zabeel 4YO, who is owned in the same interests as Melbourne Cup hopeful Pornichet, is hoping to qualify for the $1 million Gr1 Railway Stakes (1600m) later in the year. "He will have to win one of the feature handicaps to qualify into the Railway," owner Craig Thompson of Mt Hallowell Stud said. "He will go out for a spell now and come back." He added: "Pornichet (Doomben Cup) is my best horse at the moment but this guy is right up there with him. We have given him plenty of time to mature and boy we are getting excited now about him in the spring." Hazzabeel has now won 5 of his 6 starts for $89,200 in prize money.
