First Seal To Trial Friday

Wednesday, 29th July 2015

Trainer John Thompson has provided an update on glamour filly First Seal (Fastnet Rock-Episode, by Scenic) who is set to trial at Randwick on Friday. "She's coming along nicely," Thompson told RSNs Shane Anderson yesterday. "She will have her first barrier trial this Friday at Randwick and she'll have another one a couple of weeks later - then we'll head off to the races." He added: "She's pretty straight forward. She's a nice, big strong filly, about to be a mare, but she's got to make that transition now to open class company." Thompson said the weather would dictate where First Seal launched her spring campaign. "It depends on the weather. It could be the Memsie in Melbourne or the Warwick Stakes in Sydney. I'm not quite sure yet," he said. "Second-up will almost definitely be the Let's Elope at Flemington, and then on to the Sir Rupert Clarke and Toorak and probably Myer after that." The Gr1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) will be run at Caulfield on 29 August, while the Gr2 Warwick Stakes (1400m) will be run at Randwick a week earlier.
