Australian Sires Premiership Update

With the 2014-15 racing season coming to a close today, Coolmore's Fastnet Rock is set to be crowned Champion Australian Sire for the second time with progeny earnings of over $10.3 million. Fastnet Rock's national Australian sires' title caps an outstanding year for the son of Danehill who has also enjoyed global success with two Gr1 winners in the Northern Hemisphere. Ballydoyle stable-mates Qualify and Diamondsandrubies showed that Fastnet Rock had come of age as a world-class stallion when landing the English Oaks and Pretty Polly Stakes, respectively. Fellow Danehill stallion Exceed And Excel will finish second with progeny earnings of just over $9 million, while Widden Stud's outstanding young sire Sebring rounds out the top three with earnings in excess of $8.6 million. The final Top Ten rankings for the season (according to arion.co.nz as at 31 July) are:
