Fabrizio On Track For Villiers

Wednesday, 7th December 2016

Exciting galloper Fabrizio (High Chaparral-Desina, by Desert King) showed he was on track for next month's Gr2 Villiers Stakes (1600m) in Sydney when winning a 1030 metre barrier trial at Rosehill Gardens yesterday, reports AAP. The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained 5YO marked himself as one of the most promising horses in training when scoring a front-running 3.25 length win in the Listed James Boag's Premium Stakes (1800m) at Flemington in the spring. "Fabrizio had a very short let-up after the Melbourne carnival. We have him targeted for the Villiers," Bott said. "It was a nice freshen-up for him. He's kept ticking over and is thriving." The $250,000 Gr2 Villiers Stakes (1600m) will be run at Royal Randwick on 17 December. The winner will earn an automatic entry in next year's Gr1 Doncaster Mile.
