Yankee Rose Tests Positive To Banned Substance
Star filly Yankee Rose has tested positive to a banned substance from her second placing in the Gr1 Flight Stakes in the spring. Racing NSW stewards have advised that a post-race urine sample taken from the David Vandyke-trained dual Gr1 winner was found to contain the non-steriodal anti-inflammatory Ketorolac. "Stewards have advised me that a swab sample taken from Yankee Rose following her second in the Flight Stakes has come back positive to Ketorolac," Vandyke said in a statement. "This medication was prescribed and administered by a licensed veterinarian who treated Yankee Rose." An inquiry into the findings has been scheduled for 10am this Friday (20 January 2017) at the Offices of Racing NSW in Sydney.
