First Foal For Palace Malice

Wednesday, 18th January 2017

The first foal of Belmont Stakes winner Palace Malice (Curlin-Palace Rumor, by Royal Anthem) was born at Three Chimneys Farm in the early hours of last Thursday, reports Blood Horse. The filly is the first foal out the multiple graded stakes winner Ekati's Phaeton (Tale Of Ekati). "We are very pleased with the foal," said Grant Williamson, director of stallion nominations and sales at Three Chimneys.  "The filly is a lovely type and we couldn't be happier." Apart from his victory in the 2013 Belmont Stakes, Palace Malice's other Gr1 success came in the 2014 Metropolitan Handicap at Belmont Park in which he defeated two-time Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile winner Goldencents. He retired with 7 wins from 19 starts for US$2,691,135 earnings.
