Monday, 23rd January 2017

At Sha Tin racecourse in Hong Kong, multiple US Gr1-winning sprinter & Darley shuttler Street Boss (Street Cry-Blushing Ogygian, by Ogygian) added a local Hong Kong Gr1 success when 4YO Australian-bred gelding Rapper Dragon (Street Boss-Swing Dance, by Danehill Dancer) scored by 2 lengths for trainer John Moore in the HK Gr1 Hong Kong Classic Mile (1600m) for 4YOs, over fellow 4YO Australian-bred gelding Seasons Bloom (Captain Sonador-Pyramisa's Lass, by Not a Single Doubt) & Beauty Generation (Road to Rock-Stylish Bel, by Bel Esprit). Rapper Dragon, who is on a path towards the Gr1 Hong Kong Derby in March, improved his record to 6 wins from 14 starts for $2,223, 650 earnings. “The way he went there, I’d say he was 100 percent fit today, so the idea is to keep him at that level for the next two runs, culminating in the grand final, the Derby,” Moore told the South China Morning Post. “And it’s a big congratulations to my son George, who spotted this horse as a two-year-old with Gai Waterhouse in Sydney and arranged the sale. He’s bought a top-class horse.”
