Redoute's Choice Colt Wins In South Africa

Wednesday, 25th January 2017

Australian-bred 2YO colt Mujallad opened his account at the second time of asking when scoring a dominant 3.5 length win over 1000 metres at turffontein in South Africa overnight. Trained by Mike de Kock, Mujallad was purchased by Shadwell Australia for $370,000 at the 2016 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of Bell View Park Stud. By Arrowfield's Redoute's Choice out of the stakes winning New Zealand mare Raid (Pins), Mujallad is a direct descendant of champion Australian mare Emancipation (4th dam). Emancipation, a six-time Gr1 winner, has been just as influential off the track with her daughters and granddaughters producing numerous stakes performers including Gr1 winners Railings, Virage de Fortune and Rumya.
