Inglis Celebrates 150th Anniversary With Reshuffle

Friday, 27th January 2017

The new-look Easter Sales scheduling (see above) comes as Inglis celebrates its 150th year in business. Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster believes the revitalisation of the Easter sales period will be a winner for all industry participants. “The Chairman’s Sale will present the perfect platform for investors to buy into some of the country’s leading racehorses, as well as top-class broodmares and weanlings,” Webster said. “With the focus of the thoroughbred world on Sydney over this period, it then makes sense to revert to the proven formula of having the Australian Weanling and Broodmare Sale straight after Easter, as it provides vendors a greater buying market for their offerings.” Webster noted, “You don’t improve if you don’t continue to seek feedback from clients and we now believe the move back from May for the Weanling and Broodmare Sale will benefit our clients and allows us the potential to continue this new structure more effectively at our new site at Warwick Farm in years to come.” The new combined Easter calendar of events is:

  • Thurs Mar 30: The Chairman’s Sale – Elite Racing Prospects (Newmarket)
  • Sat Apr 1: Day 1 – The Championships (Royal Randwick)
  • Tues Apr 4 – Thurs Apr 6: Australian Easter Yearling Sale (Newmarket)
  • Fri Apr 7: The Chairman’s Sale – Elite Breeding and Weanling Prospects (Newmarket)
  • Sat Apr 8: Day 2 – The Championships (Royal Randwick)
  • Mon Apr 10 – Wed Apr 12: Australian Weanling and Broodmare Sale (Newmarket)
