Boom Colt Out of Autumn

Friday, 26th January 2018

Top 3YO Royal Symphony (Domesday-Naturalist, by Palace Music) will miss the autumn carnival due to injury, reports racing.com. The Tony McEvoy-trained colt, who was last seen finishing an outstanding fourth behind Winx in the Cox Plate in October, was being aimed at the Gr1 Australian Guineas in March. "It's very frustrating. It's serious enough to see him miss the autumn, but no so serious in terms of the spring," McEvoy said yesterday. "I'll rehabilitate the leg, and take him back to Adelaide. I've had quite a bit of experience with these types of injuries." McEvoy added: "Fields of Omagh [Cox Plate winner] had two of these, and he came back and raced pretty well as you know. It's only slight, but we've caught it early."
