At Caulfield in Melbourne, former Swettenham Stud shuttler and dual Gr1 Kings Stand Stakes winner Equiano (Acclamation-Entente Cordiale, by Ela-Mana-Mou) celebrated his first Australian stakes winner when 2YO Australian-bred filly Lady Horseowner (Equiano-Kid Gloves, by Fastnet Rock) maintained her perfect record when scoring a professional win in the $150,000 Gr3 Blue Diamond Preview (1000m) for fillies, defeating Crossing The Abbey & Oohood. Co-bred by Lauriston Park and her owner Paul King, Lady Horseowner extended her unbeaten record to 2 wins from 2 starts for $123,250 in earnings. Trainer Greg Eurell said the pint-sized Lady Horseowner may go straight into the Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on 24 February without another prep run. "Everything she has done, she has done very professionally all the way through," Eurell told racing.com. "We'll just let the dust settle a little bit but certainly at this stage, knowing the filly as well as we do, she could go straight into the Diamond and not have another run."
