At Ellerslie in New Zealand, Brighthill Farm's blue blooded stallion Dalghar (Anabaa-Daltawa, by Miswaki) - a half-brother to 7-time Gr1 winning champion Daylami and 4-time Gr1-winning former shuttler Dalakhani - added a restricted black-type success when 3YO New Zealand-bred gelding Scott Base (Dalghar-Extra Celestial, by Danehill Dancer) unleashed an irresistible sprint at the top of the sprint to post a stylish win in the inaugural $1 million Listed (R) Karaka Million 3YO Classic (1600m), defeating Embellish & Savvy Coup. A $70,000 purchase at the 2016 NZB Select Yearling Sale from the draft of Brighthill Farm, Scott Base improved his record to 3 wins and 3 placings (including the Listed CJC Canterbury Stakes) from 10 starts for NZ$581,875 in earnings. Scott Base hails from the family of Gr1 Randwick Guineas & Gr1 Spring Champion Stakes winner Hotel Grand and Gr1 TJ Smith Classic (now JJ Atkins Stakes) winner Outbreak Prince.
