Snitzel Adds South Africa Black-Type

Monday, 29th January 2018

At Kenilworth in South Africa, Arrowfield Stud's incumbent Champion and current leading Australian Sire Snitzel (Redoute's Choice-Snippets' Lass, by Snippets) added an overseas black-type success when 2YO Australian-bred colt Traces (Snitzel-Traceability, by Charge Forward) let down with a good turn of foot late to sprint clear for an impressive 2.25 length win in the R 150,000 Listed Summer Juvenile Stakes (1000m) for 2YOs, defeating Carlita & Royal Italian. Trained by Brett Crawford, this was the first stakes win for Traces who improved his record to 1 win from 2 starts. Carrying the familiar gold and black diamond silks of his co-breeder Arrowfield Stud, Traces is out of the unraced Traceability, a half-sister to Gr1 winners Master Of Design  and Suntagonal from the good producer Urge To Merge. This is the renowned family of champion South African mare Tracy's Element and also includes champion mare and 2010 Australian Horse of the Year Typhoon Tracy, Danasinga, Cullen and Towkay.
