Russian Revolution Bolts Up in Trial

Tuesday, 30th January 2018

Group 1 winning sprinter Russian Revolution (Snitzel-Ballet d'Amour, by Stravinsky) looked to have returned from a break in superb order after posting an easy barrier trial win at Randwick yesterday. The Peter & Paul Snowden-trained 4YO, who hasn't raced since finishing a disappointing 12th of 13 in the Gr1 Moir Stakes in September, gapped a quality field when scoring by 5.8 lengths in the opening 900 metre heat of the morning. Paul Snowden said the well-bred entire would open his autumn campaign in the Gr1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield on 24 February. "He's been to Melbourne twice already so he's more seasoned now and hopefully a more polished horse this preparation," Snowden told racenet. "He'll probably have a jump-out next week and then first-up in the Oakleigh Plate." He added: "After that he'll come back to Sydney and then we'll see how he fits in depending on what he does first-up." Click here to watch Russian Revolution's trial.
