Top Colt Back on Derby Path

Tuesday, 30th January 2018

Demonetization's New Zealand Derby campaign is back on track after a minor setback, reports theinformant.co.nz. The 3YO son of All Too Hard was scratched at Pukekohe on Friday after becoming cast in his box, but trainer Nigel Tiley says he suffered no significant injury. "There was nothing significant and he's back working as normal," Tiley said. "As it turns out it was only a hiccup and he'll run over 1600 metres at Te Rapa next Tuesday (6 February)." Demonetization will have his final Derby lead-up in the Gr2 Avondale Guineas (2100m) at Ellerslie on 17 February where he is likely to meet impressive Karaka Million 3YO Classic winner and new Derby favourite Scott Base. The Gr1 New Zealand Derby (2400m) will be run at Ellerslie on 3 March.
