Volpe Veloce QLD Bound

Tuesday, 20th February 2018

Group 1-winning Kiwi mare Volpe Veloce is being aimed at the winter carnival in Brisbane, reports NZ Racing Desk. A winner of 10 of her 14 starts, Volpe Veloce (Foxwedge-Bardego, by Barathea) marked herself as one of the best mares in the country when winning the Gr1 Railway (1200m) at Ellerslie on New Year's Day. "She's in pre-training and Gavin Parker, my training partner, saw her the other day and he said she looks great," Matamata horseman Graeme Richardson said. "She may have one race here before she goes and we'll be looking at the Stradbroke and the Tatts Tiara." The Gr1 Stradbroke Handicap (1350m) will be run at Eagle Farm on 9 June while the Gr1 Tatts Tiara (1600m) will be run at the Gold Coast a fortnight later.
