Prairie Fire Primed for Back-Up
Meanwhile, trainer Mick Price says he has no concerns about Prairie Fire (Snitzel-Consistency, by All Bar One) backing up in Saturday's $1.5 million Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield. The Sun Stud-owned colt opened his stakes account with a strong-finishing last-to-first win in last weekend's Listed Talindert Stakes (1100m), and Price said he is showing all the signs of being able to repeat that performance. "He's done really well. He's a little surprise packet that horse, because before his first run I didn't have much of a rating on him," Price told racing.com. "Blinkers on, the benefit of a run, a bit of adrenaline pumped through him, he's really switched on now." Price added: "I think what you saw in the Talindert was a pretty professional horse, especially down the straight...I think he'll put two runs together."
