Seannie Seeking First VIC Stakes Win

Friday, 23rd February 2018

Former WA filly Seannie will be chasing her first black-type victory on the east coast when she contests tonight's Gr3 Typhoon Tracy Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley. A winner of the Listed Supremacy Stakes (1000m) at Ascot last year, Seannie made a stunning Victorian debut when storming home from last to win the Ranvet Summer Sprint Handicap (1200m) at Moonee Valley two weeks ago. New trainer Trent Busuttin says the talented 3YO has thrived since her fetching first-up performance. "She has come through her first-up run too well so we have decided to run her at The Valley and try and chase some black-type," he said. "They don't run sectionals like she did last start without being a serious horse." Busuttin added: "You could argue she should have been unbeaten as a two-year-old in Perth. It is a hot field. Tulip is going to be hard to beat, along with John Hawkes' filly Bella Martini." By Sebring out of the Choisir mare Uncanny Choice, Seannie hails from the family of Australian, VRC, and Queensland Derby winner November Rain, and multiple stakes-winning sprinter Dubleanny.
