Antonio Giuseppe to Singapore

Tuesday, 27th February 2018

Group 1-placed New Zealand-bred galloper Antonio Giuseppe (Shocking-Crystalthecowgirl, by High Chaparral) will continue his racing career in Singapore under the guidance of expatriate Kiwi trainer Mark Walker, reports NZ Racing Desk. The son of Shocking has been purchased by John Galvin's Fortuna Syndications in a deal brokered by Danielle Hamlin, of Royal Bloodstock. "Mark Walker and I had been on the lookout for a strong middle distance type with good Australian form that could be competitive in Singapore's Triple Crown Series run from late September to mid-November. This horse became available, he checked out perfectly and the deal was struck," Galvin said. Antonio Giuseppe won six races from Chris Waller's Sydney stable with his best performance being a second place finish behind Sir John Harkwood in the 2016 Gr1 Metropolitan (2400m) at Randwick.
