Bonecrusher Repeat Strong Possibility For Lizzie

Friday, 9th March 2018

It's fitting that the late, great, stallion Zabeel left one of his best mares for last. In Lizzie L'Amour, the Cambridge Stud stalwart has a daughter who is poetry in motion with a long, raking gallop that reels her opposition in, and who is up for the fight once she gets her head in front. With entries for the Gr1 Doncaster Handicap, Queen Elizabeth Stakes and Sydney Cup at The Championships in Sydney, co-trainers Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman might give due consideration for one of those if Lizzie makes it back-to-back wins in Saturday's weight-for-age Gr1 Bonecrusher New Zealand Stakes, for which she's an even money favourite. Disappointing in her four Victorian starts last year, a trip to Sydney and the clockwise way of going might entice connections to send her West for a crack at the big purses.
